Google releases Chrome 150 as Search update timeline remains available

Google Chrome 150 brings new security update

Google has released Chrome 150 for desktop and Android, introducing security fixes and stability improvements while continuing to provide official visibility into Google Search algorithm rollouts through its Search Status Dashboard. The updates give website owners, developers and SEO professionals verified information about browser security and search ranking changes.

The latest Chrome Stable Channel update brings Chrome version 150.0.7871.46/.47 to desktop users. According to Google, the release includes multiple security fixes, including patches for high-priority memory safety vulnerabilities such as “use after free” issues. An updated Chrome 150 release has also been made available for Android.

The browser update is part of Google’s regular security maintenance cycle, which delivers patches designed to improve browser stability and protect users from newly identified vulnerabilities. Google encourages users to update Chrome as new versions become available.

At the same time, Google continues to use its Search Status Dashboard as the official source for confirming the timing of major Search algorithm updates.

The dashboard records when a rollout begins, progresses and finishes, helping website owners distinguish confirmed Google updates from speculation across the SEO industry. One recent example is the May 2026 Core Update, which officially began on 21 May 2026 and completed on 2 June 2026, according to Google’s published timeline.

For publishers, retailers and businesses that depend on organic search traffic, the dashboard provides a reliable reference point when reviewing changes in website visibility. Rather than relying solely on third-party tracking tools or community discussions, organizations can compare traffic fluctuations against Google’s confirmed deployment dates.

Google also maintains a Search Ranking Updates History through Search Central, giving website owners a record of previous confirmed ranking changes and algorithm updates.
